Blog 8 - Show Stopper

I wrote the last blog two weeks ago and never posted it as I got side tracked by my work away. At work we had a direct hit by a cyclone up in Port Headland and work got pushed back. I ended up staying 3 extra days.  Following getting back to the yacht, the only major event that could have stalled the yacht refit I am sorry to say has happened. No not getting tired of the project it won’t happen or bankruptcy, it’s much worse, I got a man cold/flu! Following returning from work and a couple of days recharging the batteries after, I went down to the yacht on a 35 plus degree day and could not cope, sure enough next day I had a cold.

Tomorrow is hopefully a wet day and I can head down to finish the job of cutting out the stern tube with the grinder and oxy torch. Due to the dry windy conditions this time of year we need to pick the safest day to do this job. I hope my man cold is on the mend and with some medication (concrete pills) I may have some pictures and news of progress for you over the weekend. I was hopping to add the blog I wrote 2 weeks ago following.  Turns out it is on a hard drive up North, it mainly goes into some of the technical details of the parts used in this stage of the refit.

One thing I am doing now is looking to employ certain laborers and trades people to help keep the project going. As when I come back on my next two week break I am already going to be doing a fiver day course for work.

I hope to bring you more news soon and not be so late in blogging again.

Your wanna be captain.
